About the Instructor
Pastor Jamal Bates is a Nationally Syndicated Radio Host, TV Personality, MC,
Voiceover Talent, former Law Enforcement Officer, Amazon Bestselling Author. Jamal’s radio career began with an internship at a Columbia, SC radio station, where he landed his first on-air job. For seven years Jamal was the host of the Sunday morning Gospel program “Rejoice” on KISS 103.1fm from October 2004 through May 2011. In late May 2011 Jamal received the call that would change his life forever. In June 2011, Jamal became the host of "Saturday Night Inspirations' ' from 6pm to 10pm on the Glory Radio Network, four radio stations in South Carolina, including WFMV 95.3fm in Columbia, SC. In August 2013 Jamal was named the local host of The Yolanda Adams Morning Show weekday mornings from 6am until 10am on WFMV 95.3fm. In February 2015, 'The Jamal Bates Show' was born. After a successful run as Afternoon Host, in February 2020, Jamal walked away from his radio show to pursue another dream, a nationally syndicated radio show. During his hiatus from radio, Jamal answered his call to Pastor. In February 2021, Jamal was installed and became the 8th Pastor of Greater Carolina Baptist Church in Columbia, SC. Shortly after in March 2021, Jamal launched 'The Jamal Bates Morning Show' a nationally syndicated urban inspiration morning radio show. The show can be heard in cities across the country including Augusta GA , Aiken SC, Florence SC just to name a few. In April 2021, Jamal returned to WFMV 96.1fm, 107.1fm and 620am to do ‘Afternoons’ weekdays from 3pm to 7pm in the Midlands and Low Country of South Carolina. In July 2021, God opened another door for Jamal, this time in Fort Wayne, IN to host “Middays with Jamal Bates' ' on Rhythm & Praise 94.1fm. Jamal can be heard Monday-Saturday, 10am-2pm. |
