This week our goal was to recognize characteristics of a business letter including:

• date 
  
• heading 
  
• inside address
  
• greeting 
  
• salutation 
  
• body 
  
• closing 
  
• signature
  

compared the friendly letter to the business letter. We read examples of a business letter. Then we brainstormed companies, government officials or authors that we could write.

discussed why we were writing the letter. Then we came up with three or more details that we could include in our letter. 
Finally, we wrote our letter.
